In addition to having the time of your life and challenging yourself to do more than you ever thought you could, Adventure Club Inc. rewards you for participation in club events. The awards program is intended to recognize those individuals who are active in the Club and encourage members to sign up for an event that can help them complete an awards category.
Awards are earned through completing a combination of events in 10 different categories. Members who earn "Adventure" awards receive a commemorative plaque and certificate. Those who earn "Social" awards receive a certificate. Your event totals are cumulative so even if it takes a while to complete the requisite number of events to earn an award, you don't have to start over each year.
Awards are presented at the Club's annual meeting that is held on the first Saturday in February at the Polar Plunge.
Award Categories and List of Qualifying Events
Adventure Category
No Fear Award (5)
Any event with an inherent or perceived degree of danger, which is likely to induce fear. A candidate must complete five different events.
Galloping Gourmet Award (10)
Any dining event featuring a specific or unique cuisine. A candidate must complete ten different events each featuring a differing cuisine.
Shabby Chic Award (20)
Any social event that is casual in nature and does not qualify in another category may qualify. Candidates must complete twenty different events.
